What gear is there in WoW?

Gear in WoW is the essential part of your character and gameplay in general. You play to get more gear. You get more gear to be able to get even better gear. And it goes on and on. There are currently 5 types of gear in the game with one of them being of particular importance at the max-level:

There are more gear qualities that are less important. For example, there are heirlooms that you can earn as a high-level character and send them to your low-level character to power them up and speed up their experience collection. Legendaries are orange-colored items: they mainly refer to unique items that are particularly hard to get and that are not numerous at all and that everyone knows about. What sets are there in World of Warcraft?

WoW armor sets can be divided into 2 big groups:

• PvE sets
• PvP sets

PvE sets have even more subgroups. Those subgroups are related to the raid difficulty that the set in question comes from. That gives us as many as 4 types of raid sets:

• Raid finder
• Normal
• Heroic
• Mythic

Quite expectedly, Mythic raid sets are the best PvE sets in the gam. Raid finder ones are not very powerful but they are a great starting point. Normal and Heroic are in between with the former being slightly inferior to the latter.

PvP sets usually come as a reward for reaching high PvP rating in the Arena or RBGs. Most often we get 2 color variations: one for the Alliance and one for the Horde.

What makes sets so good in WoW?

There are several things about gear sets in World of Warcraft that make them an outstanding option for any player. Here are the most important of them:

• spec-specific bonuses
• high stats
• excellent visuals

Spec-specific bonuses can be found on most high-end sets. These bonuses affect some of your spec's core abilities in an unusual way. The bonuses can make your spells apply additional effects or cause some other things like cooldown reduction for other abilities. They greatly enhance your gameplay and make your character much stronger.

High stats are obvious. You will hardly find better armor than that of the latest high-end set in terms of stats. And as for visuals, class sets are the focal point of armor designers' work each patch, so you can rest assured that it's the classiest outfit your class will get during this content cycle. Sometimes sets might look a bit underwhelming but as a rule they look good and become a great addition to your x-mog wardrobe.
